Stuart Pryke



Stuart is a graduate of Kings College London (BEng (Hons)) and the London School of Economics (MSc (Econ)). He qualified as a barrister in London in 1995 and subsequently moved to Newcastle where he practised for 5 years and built up a substantial broad-based Chancery practice representing clients at hearings including injunctions, case management conferences, interim applications and trials. He joined the Commercial Department of Ozannes in the Channel Islands in 2001. Whilst Stuart was at Ozannes his work included private and charitable trusts and collective investment schemes (both closed ended and open ended). In 2003 and joined a leading set of Chancery Chambers, 11 Old Square, Lincoln’s Inn (now Radcliffe Chambers). Here Stuart was led by a prominent QC in a complex pensions matter and produced a notable academic work in relation to sham trusts which was favourably quoted in a High Court judgement. He subsequently took a position in 2005 at Crill Canavan Solicitors and Advocates in Jersey in the trusts and financial services section of the Commercial Department. There he had primary responsibility for matters involving complex trust restructuring for a number of high net worth individuals, the establishment of some bespoke investment funds and a high profile insurance company liquidation.

In 2007, for reasons of marriage to a London based partner, Stuart returned to the UK and joined the London office of Walkers. Here Stuart established numerous bespoke investment funds under Cayman Islands and BVI law. In particular Stuart had significant responsibility for advising and managing the legal aspects of two very large hedge fund platforms for a major international bank (for which Walkers was primary legal counsel) and was involved in the launch and restructuring of various hedge funds on these platforms. In addition Stuart was involved in the establishment, restructuring, gating and winding-up of various other hedge and private equity funds. Subsequently he was assigned a business development role in relation to the trusts, private equity and foundations fields at Walkers. In this role he was involved in designing and executing an extensive marketing programme in London and Jersey. He was also involved in advising on and setting up a broad range of private trust and financial structures involving numerous legal jurisdictions.

In June 2009 Stuart set up his own legal practice in London under the name of Fiduciary Legal and at the same time founded Fiduciary Protector Limited.

At Fiduciary Legal, Stuart has been involved in the provision of consultancy legal services to private individuals, chartered tax advisers, trusts services companies, and other professionals. This work has included setting up a private trust company with a purpose trust holding structure, advising on a complex investment advisory agreement between an onshore investment adviser and certain offshore trusts and companies used for transaction execution and the dismantling of a complex EBT structure. He recently also provided consultancy services to the Business & Trusts Department at Ogier (solicitors and advocates) in Jersey and the Private Client Department at Taylor Wessing in London dealing with trust and tax matters concerning high net worth individuals. Stuart also currently advises a number of wealthy Russian individuals based in Moscow and the UK in relation to their financial affairs.

Stuart is the author of a number of articles on private trust matters including “Of protectors and enforcers” which was published in the March 2010 edition of Trusts and Trustees, Oxford University Press. He was mentioned in the Private Client, Tax and Trusts section of the Legal 500 in 2008 as being an expert on sham trusts. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a regular speaker at professional conferences relating to the financial services industry.

Stuart lives in West London with his wife and his young son but spends a considerable amount of time in the Channel Islands on business.

Jonathan Gamble



Jonathan obtained an Economics degree from the London School of Economics in 1988. Following a spell of world travelling, in 1990 he joined Morgan Stanley International in London, trading foreign exchange. Two years later he moved to Sydney where he worked for Societe Generale, being promoted to Regional Chief Dealer in Singapore in 1997. Jonathan then moved to Paris, following which he attended INSEAD. On completing his MBA (Distinction) in 2000, Jonathan launched an electronic derivative-trading platform with venture capital backing. In late 2001 he returned to Guernsey with his family and took up employment with Asset Risk Consultants (ARC). ARC has offices in Jersey and Guernsey and works for a global client base and has proven expertise in assessing and monitoring investment structures and performance across the full range of traditional and non-traditional asset classes. Service delivery combines the application of proprietary analytical techniques with established performance metrics, delivered through the appropriate mix of software and consulting. Jonathan became a director of ARC in 2003. He has also been appointed to a number of listed non-executive directorships. Jonathan currently lives in Guernsey with his wife and two children.

Brian Frith



Brian Frith started his career with Lloyds Bank Plc in South Yorkshire in 1965. In 1969 he moved to the Bahamas where he worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited, initially on the banking side of the trust company, dealing with securities and currency and latterly as a trust manager, dealing with a portfolio of high net worth individuals and corporations with large and complex portfolios.

In 1984 Brian moved to Jersey and acquired a 50% interest in Roanne Trust Company (Jersey) Limited and, in conjunction with his co-principal, grew the business considerably over the next two years. The business was acquired in 1986 by the Tyndall Group and subsequently by the Australian Group, Westpac and latterly the South African Group, Ansbacher. Throughout this period Brian was retained as a senior officer of the company and at the time of his departure in 1999, he was managing director of the Jersey operation with a staff of over 70 and active trust, banking and fund divisions. From 1999 to 2003 Brian was Chief Executive Officer of WJB Chiltern (Jersey) Limited (now Vistra (Jersey) Limited) which he grew through organic growth and the acquisition of two local trust companies. Brian has a number of non-executive directorships and when he is not travelling on business spends most of his active life in Jersey with his wife and 2 children.

Brian is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Marina Starkova



Marina Starkova was born in Russia, she left Moscow University with MA Honours degree in history. After starting out as a journalist in Moscow, Marina moved to London where she worked as a journalist and TV presenter on a daily sports program. In 2003 she established Red Square Projects Limited a public relations company with which she is still involved. At Red Square Projects, Marina was head of the lifestyle management department looking after high net worth Russian individuals. Marina continues to manage the personal interests of a number of wealthy Russian individuals and is to be found at most significant Russian events taking place in London.
